The idea for this book is ten years old. I know the exact moment it arrived — not as a plot, not as characters, but as a question I couldn’t let go of: what would a science fiction epic look like if it were rooted not in the Western canon but in the deep histories and mythologies of the Indian subcontinent? Not as decoration, not as exotic backdrop, but as the structural material of the world itself — its cosmologies, its epistemologies, its understanding of time.
For a decade that question sat with me. I read around it, thought around it, lived alongside it. This year I finally started writing.
I live between two things: software, which I build for work, and this novel, which I write in the margins. This blog is where I’ll document the making of it — the research, the world-building, the slow accumulation of a story that has been trying to get out.
Book 1 is called The Awakening. More soon.
